Game History

Alien Ambush was designed in 1984 for the Commodore 64 Home Computer and the Mattel Intellivision Video Game System but was never released due to the video game industry crash of 1984. The first release of Alien Ambush was on the Commodore Amiga home computer in 1993 under the Starline Entertainment Software Network brand of The SGN/Starline Company. In 1995, Alien Ambush was planned as the first game on the IBM PC Computers from The SGN/Starline Company. The slower speed and greater difficulty of sound and graphics under MS-DOS made the game too difficult to port and as such, Super Ice Qube Hopper was actually released first.

In 1997 Alien Ambush was ported to Microsoft Windows 95 and finally released on this platform. Windows players found the original port too easy to play. Bombs and harder difficulties were added as a free upgrade.

The Xbox 360 version is this updated version from 1997.
