Golden Royal Omaha and Texas Hold'em ™
Xbox 360 LIVE Community Games
What is Hold'em?
Hold’em is a Poker Game played with Community Cards. Each
player receives their own cards and five Community Cards are
also dealt. The player makes a winning hand by combining their
cards with some of the Community Cards.
Variations:
In Texas Hold’em, each player is dealt two cards. They make the
best hand possible by using any five of the cards between their
cards and the Community Cards. Texas Hold’em is a popular
online game.
In Omaha Hold’em, each player is dealt four cards. They must
use two of their cards and any three of the Community Cards to
make the best hand they can. Omaha Hold’em is a popular
Casino game as the pots tend to be larger and the hands better.
The game will automatically choose the best cards for you in
each of the variations.
Betting:
First a dealer is chosen. The player to the left of the dealer
must make a small blind bet, which is half of the minimum bet
required. The next player must make a big blind bet which is
the full minimum bet amount. The game will do this for you.
Next, each player can raise the bet, call or check, or fold.
Raising a bet raises the current bet as well as matches the
current bet. Check is similar to passing. There is no bet required.
Calling means you will match the current bet but not raise it any.
Folding will remove you from the hand and you will lose any
betting chips you have bet so far.
There can only be a maximum of three bet choices per betting
round. On the third time you can call or check, or fold.
Game Flow:
Dealer is chosen. First dealer is random after which the dealer
rotates left each hand.
Small Blind is bet followed by the Big Blind is bet.
Player’s cards are dealt and all players bet.
The Flop is dealt. The flop is the
first three of the Community Cards
then all the players remaining bet.
The Turn is dealt. This is the
fourth Community Card and all Players remaining bet.
The River is dealt. This is the fifth and final Community Cards.
All Players remaining bet.
All hands are shown and the winner receives the pot.
Betting Chips:
You begin the game with 50,000 betting chips. You cannot run out
of betting chips. If you do go below zero betting chips, the game
will give you another 5,000 betting chips.
Golden Royal Bonus:
Each hand has a random Golden Royal Bonus. If you win the hand
with a Golden Royal Card in your best hand, you will also receive
the Golden Royal Bonus!

Playing on Xbox LIVE®:
You can play online over Xbox LIVE with up to seven other players.
Quick Match will randomly find a game to join. Select Join Table
to choose from a list of available games to join. You can also start
a table and host it yourself. You can make this table public so that
anyone can join or you can make the table private so only friends
or people you invite can join.
If you have over 100,000 Betting chips you can select to start a
game as Serious or Casual. Serious tables are reserved for players
who currently have over 100,000 betting chips.
By default tables are created as Casual.
Tables can also be set to allow or disallow Golden Royal Bonuses.
If Golden Royal Bonuses are disabled, players will NOT recieve a
bonus when they win a hand with a Golden Royal card.
The game plays the same as playing offline except that there is a
time limit to choose your bet. You can choose to “Fold and Stand”
which means that you will fold your hand and stand up. When
standing you can press A at any time to sit back
down. When you sit back down, you will be able to
play starting the next hand.
+/-:
A +/- amount is displayed under your total betting chips. This is
amount that you have bet and lost since the game started. If you
are playing online, the host can reset this amount at any time. This
is useful for playing a tournament for example. To reset this
amount, press Start to bring up the Menu. Select Reset +/-.
World Wide Rankings:
When playing online the game will share your list of players you
have played with and theirs with yours. This will create a top
players list which is used to compute your Rank. This list will only
include the data from the players you play with so it can change
greatly when a new player enters the table.
World Wide Rankings are NOT updated when playing offline.
In-Game Awards :
There are 10 in-game awards you can earn in each of the
variations for a total of 20. You can choose an In-game Award
Icon to display next to your name to show off that you have
earned it. Earning an Award will also unlock a piece of game
content that can be used to customize your game room. There are
floors, chairs, and tables to choose from. When an Award is
earned, the content will be unlocked for all players on that
console. If someone else already unlocked the content then you
will only receive the award icon.
Winning Hands :
Hands are ranked in a particular order for purposes of winning.
The game will tell you over your cards what your current hand is.
Under the Community Cards, it will tell you the Best Hand anyone
can have. This does not mean that someone has that hand.
You can press either trigger to view the list of hands. It will also
mark your hand. To determine the winner the hands are ranked.
In cases of identical ties the pot will be split by all players that
have the winning hand.
If multiple players win with a Golden Royal card, they will all recieve the full bonus, it is not split.
